The Apprentice Signs With Yahoo
Mark Burnett Products, producer of the popular show The Apprentice, and Yahoo said today that the two companies have signed a multi-season extension to their relationship for future versions of the show. Yahoo! will provide official sites for future versions of The Apprentice with Donald Trump, in addition to the new Martha Stewart-based versions of the show. VivoMetrics Gets Homeland Security Grant
Ventura-based VivoMetrics, developer of the LifeShirt technology for monitoring vital signs, and Camarillo-based partner Storm Mountain Technologies said this week that the two companies have been awarded a U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Domestic Preparedness grant for $748,699. Business.com Launches Job Search Engine
Los Angeles-based Business.com announced this morning that it is launching a new job search engine. The company's new site, work.com, will provide job listings from employers direct to job seekers. Business.com said that the site will allow professions to manage the job application process directly through the hiring company. Agribuys Merges With Foodconnex Worldwide
Torrance-based Agribuys, a venture-backed provider of supply chaim management software for the food industry, said yesterday that it has agreed to merge with Foodconnex Worldwide. The two companies said that the new company will be named FoodLink Online, and will provide an expanded network of buyers. The new company will be based in Torrance, and will be headed by Agribuys CEO Vijay Yajnik. Financial terms were not disclosed.

DATAllegro Raises $15M
Aliso Viejo-based DATAllegro announced yesterday that it has raised a Series B funding worth $15M. The round was led by Adams Capital Management and included participation by existing investors Palomar Ventures and Venrock Associates. George Urgas of Adams Capital Management has joined the company's board of directors in conjunction with the funding. DATAllegro is developing a data warehousing appliance that provides performance improvements to existing database installations.
