Fulcrum Raises $20M
Calabasas-based Fulcrum Microsystems said this morning that it has raised a $20M Seriers C venture round of funding. The round came from Granite Ventures, and included participation by existing investors Infinity Capital, New Enterprise Associates, Palomar Ventures, and Worldview Technology Partners. Fulcrum is developing clockless semiconductors used to interconnect networking chips. Occam Networks Ships To Canada
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks announced this morning that its Ethernet- and IP-based telecommunications equipment is shipping to an Ontario-based telecommunications provider. Ontario-based Wightman Telecom will be using Occam's broadband loop systems to transition from TDM to IP and Gigabit Ethernet-based telecommunications service. The equipment will be used for POTs and broadband DSL support throughout the province.

Vivendi, McDonalds Partner On Happy Meals
Los Angeles-based Vivendi Universal Games and fast food giant McDonalds have partnered to offer entertainment titles from Vivendi in Happy Meals and Might Kids Meals. McDonalds will offer electronic handheld video games based on Vivendi's popular Crash and Spyro properties. Vivendi's Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon are characters for PlayStation 2 and Xbox systems. The companies said that McDonalds will spend millions on promoting the Happy Meal giveaway.

Archos Targets iPod Mini
Irvine-based Archos said today that it has launched a new, ultra-thin digital music player offered in a variety of colors. The new, 3-Gigabyte Gmini XS 100 supports up to 1500 songs and Microsoft's Windows Media player. The new player weighs only 2.8 ounches, supports MP3, WMV, WMA, and protected WMA music files, and ties into Microsoft's PLayForSure digital music download services. Napster, Dwango Partner on Mobile Ringtones
Los Angeles-based online music subscription firm Napster and Seattle-based Dwango Wireless said this morning that the two companies are partnering to provide ringtones, graphics, and wallpaper from Napster's library. The new Napstertones service will be availeble to Cingular and T-Mobile users this summer. The content from Napster will be priced between $1.99 and $2.99, and will also include a bundled download from Napster's music catalog.
