Preventsys Names CFO
Carlsbad-based Preventsys, a provider of enterprise security management software, said this week that it has named Scott Smull as CFO. Smull was most recently CFO of DispenseSource, and has also served at PurePulse Technologies, Linkabit Wireless, and ComStream.

JAMDAT Goes Golfing
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT mobile has launched a new wireless entertainment title, JAMDAT Mini Golf. The new game, which the company announced at the E3 Entertainment Expo, provides mobile phone users with a complete virtual mini golf course. The game features hazardous obstacles, secrete shortcuts, and more for wireless phones. The company said that the new title will be available this summer for a number of wireless carriers. THQ Adds Wireless Gaming Developer To Roster
Calabasas-based THQ Wireless said today that it has added mobile gaming developer Mikoishi to its roster of developers. THQ will add Mikoishi's network multiplayer games to its existing portfolio of branded mobile entertainment titles. Mikoishi's multiplayer games allow wireless users to interact with other users in play, both in head-to-head competition as well as in tournaments and other group competition.

Androclus Therapeutics Gets Venture Funding
San Diego-based Androclus Therapeutics has raised a round of venture funding from E. de Rothschild Investment Partners and Matignon Technologies. The company is developing therapeutics targeting autoimmune and inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel disease. The company currently has a drug candidate, an orally administered immunomodulatory peptide for the treatment of RA, in Phase II clinical trials.

Koders.com Launches Search Engine for Open Source Code
Koders.com has launched a new search engine, targeted at the open source development market. The Santa Monica-based startup said Monday that it has launched a search engine which indexes the thousands of open source development projects and allows developers to search via keyword, language, and open source license. LA Tags Prisoners With RFID
According to a provider of RFID tracking systems, The Los Angeles County jail system has reportedly engaged in a pilot project to use RFID technology to track inmates at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic. Alanco Technologies, a provider of RFID tracking products, said that system will be used for continuously tracking inmates at all times throughout the facility.
