ARCHOS Intros Mobile DVR
Irvine-based ARCHOS said this morning that it has introduced a new, portable digital video recorder (DVR). The company's new AV700 Mobile Digital Video Recorder provides a 100-gigabyte hard drive and a wide screen in a portal DVD player-sized package. The new device supports up to 400 hours of video and will be available in June. The DVR allows for scheduling of video recording, supports a 7" LCD wide screen display, MPEG-4 and MP3 support, and connects to a video docking station for easily cone (More info...)

Belkin Takes iPod Wireless
Compton-based computer accessories maker Belkin announced today that it is now shipping a new product, TuneStage, that allows consumers to play music from the popular Apple iPod device via a wireless Bluetooth link. The company's new product connects an iPod to a wirelessly connected receiver attached to a consumer's stereo. The $179.99 device supports distances of up to 33 feet and 3.5mm audio and RCA stereo outputs.

Conexant Ships Low Power Wi-Fi Chip
Newport Beach-based Conexant said this morning that it has launched a new Wi-Fi, 802.11g chip targeted at the multimedia cell phone and handheld market. The new single chip CX3110X solution is a power-efficient component for embedded mobile applications. The solution integrates all of the necessary wireless radio components and power save features. Conexant is a developer of communications ICs.

Gluecode Founder Officially Launches Open Source Investment Firm
As reported Friday, Winston Damarillo, founder of Gluecode, has launched a new investment company backed by Redpoint Ventures and Mission Ventures. The new company is targeted at commercializing open source software projects. The company said that it has invested in LogicBlaze, an open source company focused on developing and supporting ActiveMQ, and Mergere, a open source software lifecycle management firm. Damarilo was founder of Gluecode Software, which was acquired this month by IBM.
