CallWave Appoints Interim CFO
Santa Barbara-based CallWave said this week that it has appointed a new, Interim CFO. C. Stephen Cordial will replace existing CFO Jason Spievak, who the company said is leaving for personal reasons. Spievak will also resign from the board of directors. Cordial was most recently VP and CFO of Somera Communications, and also served as CFO of Xylan Corp. before it was acquired by Alcatel. Siderean Partners With SchemaLogic
El Segundo-based Siderean Software has entered into a partnership with SchemaLogic, a Redmond Washington-based enterprise metadata and taxonomy management software provider. According to the companies, they will explore ways to jointly improve finadability of relevant information in enterprises. Siderean is a provider of search and retrieval management software that groups and organizes digital information for easier navigation. YellowPages.com, Infospace Switchboard In Distribution Agreement
Pasadena-based YellowPages.com and Switchboard announced yesterday that the two companies have signed a distribution agreement to provide YellowPages.com advertisers on the Switchboard online directory network. YellowPages.com, a joint venture between SBC Communications and BellSouth, and Switchboard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of InfoSpace, said that the deal would allow YellowPages.com advertisers to have priority distribution in SwitchBoard.com search results. Music Industry Continues Internet2 Offensive
The Recording Industry Association of America has filed an additional wave of lawsuits against student file swappers on the next generation Internet2 network, adding an additional 20 new schools to the list. The RIAA filed an initial round of copyright infringement lawsuits against students who were using the new, high speed research network to swap music last month.
