Jazz Semiconductor Appoints CFO
Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor has appointed Brent Jensen as VP and Chief Financial Officer. Jensen joins from ZARS, and has served at National Semiconductor, AMI Semiconductor, and other companies. Jazz Semiconductor is a semiconductor foundry focused on high speed, mixed signal, and other high performance applications.

Paciolan Signs Gettix.net
Irvine-based online ticketing provider Paciolan said this week that it has signed a partnership with Gettix.net, an entertainment and sports company. Gettix.net will use Paciolan for all of its sports and arena properties. Paciolan's software will provide a comprehensive ticketing system for Gettix.net, including ticket purchase history, demographic data, and attendance information.

Ixia Expands Board of Directors
Calabasas-based network testing tools company Ixia has added two new directors to the company's board. Ixia has added Jonathan Fram and Gail Hamilton to the board. Fram is Entrepreneur in Residence at DCM - Doll Capital Management. Gail E. Hamilton was most recently EVP and GM for Global Services and Support at Symantec. Ixia develops network testing tools and software for high speed networks, used by manufacturers and others to qualify and test their networking equipment.

Storactive Gets CDP Win
Marina Del Rey-based storage software firm Storactive has scored a win with Atempo, a information lifecycle management software developer. Atempo will resell Storactive's LiveBackup continuous data protection software to its customer base. The Storactive software will be sold in conjunction with Atempo's file restoration software. Archos Ships 20GB Mini Music Player
Irvine-based consumer electronics manufacturer Archos has shipped a new, 20GB miniature music player. The company's new Gmini XS 202 adds support for Microsoft's music download service, and is an upgrade from the company's Gmini XS 200 player. The player also supports MP3, WMA, and WAV music files and up to 10,000 tracks of music. Archos is a developer of portable consumer electronics, including music players and portable video and media players.

Vivendi Universal Taps Unreal
Los Angeles-based Vivendi Universal Games said yesterday that it has tapped Epic Games for its next generation Unreal Engine 3 console and PC game development tools. Vivendi will use the Unreal Engine 3 technology for its next generation titles, expected to start shipping in 2006. The company said that by the Unreal software will help VU Games create high quality next gen titles.

Streamload Partners With Meedio
San Diego-based file sharing and storage service Streamload announced this morning that it has partnered with Meedio, a provider of digital media software. The companies are now developing a Streamload plug-in for Meedio's media management software that allows consumers to save and retrieve files through Meedio's interfaces directly to and from the Streamload service. Streamload provides an online service for storing rich media files such as MP3 and video. Streamload is backed by Windward Ventur (More info...)
