Atari Founder Targets New Theme Restaurant
Atari and Chuck E. Cheese founder Nolan Bushnell is ramping up his efforts to develop a new theme restaurant chain. John Kaufman, former VP of Operations at CPK, and COO of Koo Koo Roo and Rosti restaurant chains has joined Bushnell in a new Los Angeles-based company, uWink Media Bistro, targeted at creating a multimedia-focused, adult-focused theme restaurant. CinemaNow Adds High Def Content To Video On Demand Service
Marina Del Rey-based CinemaNow has inked an agreeement with HDNet, a provider of high-definition television content, to add titles from HDNet's high definition library. The companies said that the content will be available on CinemaNow's download-to-own service. CinemaNow provides online, video on demand for broadband users. Yahoo Takes Flight
Yahoo! and Connexion by Boing announced this morning that the search engine company has entered into a multi-year, web and sponsored search distribution agreement for Boeing's in-flight Internet service. Yahoo will be the exclusive search engine provider for Connexion by Boeing, and will offer the same Yahoo search results available to other Internet users. XM, Napster In Strategic Partnership
Los Angeles-based Napster and satellite radio company XM Satellite Radio said this morning that the two companies have entered into a long term strategic partnership. The companies are launching an integrated music service that allows users to access, purchase, and manage music from XM and Napster. The XM + Napster service will provide digital music subscriptions and downloading for all of XM's subscribers, and will launch in the fourth quarter of 2005.
