Warner Bros Adds VP Mobile Efforts
Glendale-based Warner Bros. Online said Wednesday that it has added Billy Wright as VP Worldwide Wireless for the firm. Wright will manage the company's strategic mobile teams for developing, producing, publishing, and marketing content. Warner Bros. offers mobile wallpapers, video, and games based on its various properties. The studio also said that the group develops promotional mobile content for upcoming projects. Overland Names VP Sales
San Diego-based storage backup hardware maker Overland Storage said this week that it has appointed George Karabatsos as VP of Worldwide Sales. Karabatsos joins the firm from StorageTek, where he was VP Rseller Channel Sales and Marketing. Karabatsos has also served at Seagate, Maxtor, Memorex, and Verbatim.

j2 Promotes Execs
Los Angeles-based j2 Global Communications has promoted two of its executives. The provider of messaging, fax, and communications services said that it has promoted Hemi Zucker to co-president and chief operating officer, and named Scott Turicchi as co-president and CFO. Existing president Scott Jarus has resigned from the company. The company said that Jarus was interested in pursuing new challenges, and will consult to the company for the next few months.

Louvat Joins inQ
Los Angeles-based inQ has appointed Bernard Louvat as President and CEO. Louvat was previously CEO of Evolution Robotics, and was founder and CEO of BizBuyer.com. Louvat was also a General Manager at CitySearch. inQ is developing chat marketing solutions for e-commerce web sites, a combination of outsources chat software, trained live agents, and a marketing agency. The company is backed by Dolphin Equity and Hudson Ventures.

Ixia Revs Broadband Testing Tool
Calabasas-based Ixia this week upgraded its IxAsccess test application for next generation broadband networks and VPN networks. The company said that the upgraded tool adds access for L2TPv3, Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol version 3, a protocol for creating virtual private networks across service provider networks; upgraded IPv6 supports; and better session emulation capacity and accuracy in traffic performance tests.

THQ Takes College Sports Wireless
Calabasas-based THQ Wireless has expanded its ringtone and wallpaper business to the collegiate sports arena. The entertainment firm said yesterday that it has partnered with 2ThumbZ Entertainment to publish and distribute wallpapers with popular college logos, and ringtones of the famous fight songs of schools. The new offerings include wallpaper for the Texas Longhorns, Michgan Go Blue, Oklahoma Boomer Sooners, USC Trojans, and Miami Big U.
