DATAllegro, Business Objects in Alliance
San Diego-based data warehousing appliance startup DATAllegro announced this morning that it is in a technology alliance with Business Objects. Business Objects is a provider of business intelligence solutions. The two companies will work on interoperability between Businessobjects XI, a data warehousing application, and DATAllegro's data warehouse appliances. SMC Rolls Out New Gigabit Desktop Switches
Irvine-based SMC Networks this morning added two additional switches to its Gigabit line of switches. The manufacturer of Ethernet networking equipment added a new 16- and 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for desktop and SMB applications. The new switches support 10/100/1000 Gigabit links, and web-based configurations. The new switches support Gigabit copper and jumbo frame support.

JAMDAT Launches Tetris In Europe
Los Angeles-based mobile entertainment firm JAMDAT Mobile said today that it has launched Tetris in the UK and Europe for wireless platforms. The developer of entertainment titles said that the mobile version of the Tetris title is available on Vodafone, O2, and T-Mobile, as well as other wireless carriers in other European countries. Blu-ray Disc Adds Univeral Music
The Blu-ray Disc Association announced this morning that Univeral Music Group is the latest publisher to support the next generation DVD format. Universal has joined the organization as a contributing member. Universal will work with the BDA on the next generation DVD format. The Blu-ray and HD-DVD are in the midst of a format war to establish which format will be the replacement for the existing DVD format. BellSouth, Napster Team On Digital Music
Los Angeles-based Napster and BellSouth are teaming together on a deal to offer Napster's digital music service to BellSouth DSL subscribers. The deal is the first that Napster has inked with an ISP. BellSouth DSL customers are being given the option to receive a free three-month membership to the Napster To Go subscription service and a MP3 player designed for the Napster service.
