Pasadena-based SBC SMARTpages.com this morning said that it has relaunched its web site with a new focus on local business search and consumer-focused content. The provider of yellow page directories said that its launch adds better search features, in-depth content, and more information in it search results. PriceRunner, FortuneCity Partner
Westlake Village-based PriceRunner and web hosting provider FortuneCity said this morning that the two companies have partnered to provide comparison shoipping to the FortuneCity network of sites. PriceRunner will be offered on the web hosting provider's web sites, and on MyPhotoAlbum.com, a personalized online photo sharing service. Qualcomm Buys Mobile Content Delivery Software Firm for $57M
San Diego-based Qualcomm said today that it is acquiring ELATA, a UK-based developer of mobile content delivery software. The deal is worth $57M in cash, and adds ELATA's wireless content delivery system to its line of wireless data solutions and services. ELATA provides management and delivery of rich wireless content, providing content services across a variety of device platforms. Napster Gets Sporty
Los Angeles-based digital music firm Napster said yesterday that it is expanding its rangtone service to include sports-themed media. The firm is tapping partner Dwango Wireless to include content from action sports atheletes. The content will include snowboarder Marc Frank Montoya, Supercross racer Kevin Windham, freestyle motocross rider Adam Jones. All of the atheletes are sponsored by Napster as "Team Napster". Digital Camera Buyers Satisfied
Westlake Village-based J.D. Power and Associates is reporting that consumers are increasingly satisfied with the functionality and speed of new digital cameras, in its latest survey of digital camera owners. The J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Digital Camera Satisfaction Study found that digital cameras in the lower price segments are more accessible, and more powerful.
