Homestore Targets Lead Generation
Westlake Village-based Homestore released a new, lead generation solution for Realtors yesterday. The company's new Top Marketer tool helps connect customers looking for information on residential real estate to Realtors. The new tool provides a home valuation tool for consumers, as well as connections into the company's network of web sites. Massively Multiplayer Entertainment Firms Merge
Calabasas-based Emergent Game Technologies, and North Carolina based NDL said this morning that the two firms have merged. The combined company will combine its online game infrastructure, and 3D graphics technology, focused on massively multiplayer online video games. Emergent is formerly Butterfly.net, which relocated to the LA area from Martinsburg, West Virginia. Butterfly received funding from JVP, Worldview, and other investors before its relocation. CaseStack Raises $20M For Acquisitions
Santa Monica-based CaseStack has raised an additional $20M in venture funding, as the company looks to fund acquisitions. Funding was led by Clarity Partners, and included participation from existing investors Kline Hawkes, Blumberg Capital, and Garage Technology Ventures. The company provides outsourced logistics to consumer packaged goods companies. Lions Gate Supports Blu-ray
The Blu-ray Disc Association continued its push this week to gain further supporters for its next generation DVD format, as Lions Gate Entertainment said that it would release content on the high definition disc format. The announcement from Lions Gate comes as part of an additional assault on competing HD-DVD, and follows a similar announcement by Universal Music earlier this week.
