Kintera Expands VPs
San Diego-based nonprofit software provider Kintera said yesterday that it has named S. Kelly Herrick as VP of Education. Herrick joins from salesforce.com, where he was Director of Global Learning Services. Herrick also served as Senior Director of Oracle University, where he was responsible for executive learning and professional development programs.

JAMDAT Adds To Board
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile has named Michael Lynton to its board of directors. Lynton is Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Lynton heads Sony's motion picture, television and digital content production and distribution, and has also served as President of Time Warner International. Lynton also headed AOL's International operations and was CEO of AOL Europe.

SMC Rolls 802.11g Wireless Bridge
Irvine-based SMC Networks has rolled out a new, dual-radio 802.11g wireles bridge. The company's new 2.4GHz dual-radio 802.11g can connect wireless LANs and wireless client access at 54Mbps bandwidth. The new device is targeted at branch offices, schools, and campus environments. The new hardware can also be used as a bridge repeater, AP repeater, and dual access point.

Mindspeed Gets Linux Support
Newport Beach-based Mindspeed has gained Linux real-time operating system (RTOS) support in a deal inked with LynuxWorks, an embedded software provider. Mindspeed's Voice-over-IP (VoIP) processors now support LynxOS support, a Linux/POSIX/Unix operating system focused on real-time operating applications. The embedded OS integrates with Mindspeed's system on a chip and DSP processing cores.

Amp'd Signs William Morris Agency
Los Angeles-based mobile entertainment content firm Amp'd Mobile said this week that it has signed a deal with the William Morris Agency. William Morris Agency will secure strategic and marketing partnerships and content deals in the entertainment area. Amp'd is developing wireless entertainment services and applications that tie in music, entertainment content to wireless devices.
