Parasoft Signs Outsourcing Giant
Monrovia-based Parasoft said today that it has signed a strategic global partnership with offshore outsourcing giant Wipro. Wipro, one of the largest Indian outsourcing firms, will tap Parasoft's Jtest software testing tool across the company's extensive Java development projects worldwide. Xingtone Supports iTunes Phone
Los Angeles-based Xingtone announced today that its newest version of its mobile content distribution service provides support for new iTunes/Motorola ROKR compatibility. The firm said that its ringtone software supports the new Motorola wireless phone with Apple iTunes support. CinemaNow Goes Extreme With New Content
Los Angeles-based online video on demand firm CinemaNow has inked a deal with Federal Hill Communications, a content solutions provider for digital enteratinment platforms, to bring WWE sports videos to PCs and mobile devices. The two companies said that World Wide Entertainment's extreme sports clips will be distributed on a non-exclusive basis via the CinemaNow web site. Sabeus Acquires Laser Firm
Calabasas-based Sabeus said this morning that it has acquired Van Nuys-based Aragon Technologies, a developer of laser technology. Terms were not disclosed. Sabeus will integrate Aragon's technology for narrow line width, low phase noise lasers into its advanced sensing applications. Aragon founders Armando Montalvo and Al Garden have also joined Sabeus as executives. Study Finds Internet Plays Bigger Role In Automobile Purchases
Westlake Village-based J.D. Power and Associates is reporting that the Internet is playing a bigger role in helping consumers purchase vehicles, with auto dealers increasingly satisfied with the sales leads from online efforts. The research firm said Monday that its 2005 Dealer Satisfaction with Online Buying Services Study found that online buying services have made a dramatic impact on how consumers shop for vehicles. Full90 Sports Gets Strategic Investment
San Diego-based Full90 Sports said yesterday that it has raised a strategic round of funding from Mitsui & Company. The developer of head protection gear for soccer players said that it received the funding as part of a comprehensive agreement with the Japanese firm. Mitsui will serve as a manufacturer and master distributor of the company's product in Asia. The company's headgear reduces impact and probability of concussion due to head to head impacts.
