X1 Rolls Out Workgroup Search Tool
Pasadena-based desktop search engine firm X1 Technologies said today that it has released a workgroup edition of its software. The company's new X1 Workgroup Edition provides enterprise search for small and medium sized companies. The software allows users to index and search for content on a corporate network and email. H20 Audio Enhances Waterproof MP3 Line
San Diego-based H2O Audio, a manufacturer of waterproof cases and headphones for diving, said today that it has released its latest waterproof MP3 player housing and headset. The company's DV-i700 allows recreational and technical divers to listen to music up to a depth of 300 feet, using the case combined with the iRiver iFP-700 player. Linspire Distributes Through Ingram Micro
San Diego-based Linspire said this morning that it is now distributing its desktop Linux distribution through Ingram Micro. Linspire said that Ingram's resellers and system builders can now purchase Linspire's products through Ingram Micro's catalog. Ingram Micro is a major distributor of computer products to the retail channel and system integrators. CODA Genomics Closes Series A
Irvine-based CODA Genomics said this morning that it has closed a Series A round of funding from the Tech Coast Angels. The company received $800,000 from the TCA, and has added TCA members Jay S. Kunin, Ph.D. and Robert Engler, MD to its board of directors. CODA is commercializing DNA assembly and protein expression technology, and is based on research from UC Irvine. The company's products are used for research on protein structure and function.

TransDimension Acquired by Oxford Semiconductor
Irvine-based TransDimension, a maker of embedded USB software, has been acquired by Oxford Semiconductor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Oxford said that it was acquiring TransDimension to strengthen its connectivity product portfolio. Oxford will add the TransDimension line of software to its existing line of products.
