Integrien Appoints Patmore To Board
Irvine-based Integrien said this morning that Barry Patmore has been added to its Advisory Board. Patmore also serves on the board of QAD, and has served on the boards of Ascendent Telecommunications, Continuous Software, and LetsTalk. He was also a partner at Brentwood Venture Capital. Integrien is developing software for monitoring IT infrastructure. The company recently received a round of funding from Clearstone Venture Partners and the Tech Coast Angels.

Tarari Upgrades Silicon
San Diego-based Tarari said today that it has upgraded its line of threat management acceleration silicon processors. The company said that its fourth generation Tarari Regular Expression Content processors now run from 50Mbps to 4Gbps. Tarari's processors are being used by developers to accelerate intrusion prevension, anti-spam, anti-virus, and other applications which require rapid processing. The company's chips offload procesisng of these applications.

Study: Scottrade Leads Online Investing Sites
J.D. Power and Associates has released its latest Online Investor Satisfactioin Study ranking online investing firms, showing that Scottrade, Vanguard, Fidelity Investments, Sharebuilder, and Charles Schwab lead the industry in customer satisfaction. The study also showed that the average number of annual trades performed by investors is 36, up from 2004 and 22 in 2003. The study included responses from 5,099 online investors and included 19 firms.

SMC Rolls Out Wireless Storage Server
Irvine-based SMC Networks has introduced a new wireless network file server for 802.11g networks. The company's new EZ Connect Wireless AP Storage product provides both wireless network connectivity to users along with two USB hard disk drive connectors for connecting USB-based hard drives. The new device acts much like a wireless print server in allowing access to any connected storage. Macromedia, QUALCOMM Put Flash In BREW-
Macromedia and San Diego-based Qualcomm this morning said that the companies are extending Macromedia's popular Flash multimedia format into Qualcomm's wireless BREW platform. Macromedia said that it will create a version of Macromedia Flash Lite as an extension of the popular BREW wireless development platform. The software will ship next year, and allow developers to port their Flash-based applications to run on cell phones and other wireless devices using Qualcomm technology.
