THQ Expands Board of Directors
Agoura Hills-based THQ, a developer of interactive entertainment software, said this week that it has appointed Jeffrey Griffiths to its board of directors. The appointment expands THQ's board to six seats. Griffiths was most recently president and CEO of Electronics Boutique holdings, a retailer of entertainment software that recently merged with GameStop.

Koders Appoints CFO
Santa Monica-based code search engine firm Koders said that it has appointed Mark Balabanian as CFO and General Manager. Balabanian will be responsible for corporate development and the public search portion of the firm's business. Balabanian was most recently a Principal at Sierra Ventures, a venture capital firm.

Jambo Rolls Out Pay Per Call Services
Agoura-based Jambo said this morning that it has launched availability of its pay-per-call solution for the local search advertising market. The firm is providing pay-for-performance advertising for local merchants, allowing for local merchants to pay for online advertising based on the calls they receive, instead of per-click. The company is competing in an increasingly competitive space to establish a local search model. The company said that its service managed all calls and billing.

DIRECTV Sponsors NASCAR
El Segundo-based DIRECTV said this morning that it has signed on as a sponsor of the popular NASCAR stock car auto racing organization. DIRECTV will promote its digital television service through the use of the NASCAR brand in its marketing and advertising promotions. DIRECT said that the campaigns will focus on the company's new DIRECTV Plus DVR (digital video recorder). Financial terms were not disclosed.

CEIVA Rolls Out Broadband Photo Frame
Los Angeles-based CEIVA said today that it has rolled out a new digital photo frame with broadband support. The company, which markets a digital photo frame which displays digital photos, said that its new Digital Photo Receiver now supports connection through broadband networks and digital phone systems, in addition to a traditional phone line. Qlogic Acquiring Troika Networks For $36.5
Aliso Viejo-based Qlogic announced yesterday that it is acquiring Westlake Village-based storage acceleration hardware firm Troika Networks in a deal worth $36.5M in cash. Qlogic, a maker of Fibre Channel host bus adapters and switches, said that it will integrate Troika's technology into entry level and mid-range QLogic virtualization platforms that host OEM and ISV software.
