Syntricity Names CFO
San Diego-based Syntricity has named Clara Leonida as CFO for the company. Leonida was most recently CFO of Z Microsystems. She has also served at FHP, Brooktree, and AMCC. Syntricity is a provider of yield management software for the semiconductor industry.

Jambo Adds VP
Agoura Hills-based Jambo has added Richard Rosen as VP of Business Development. Rosen was most recently at CallSource. Rosen has also served at Homestore, FirstLook, and co-founder of OpenSpace. Jambo is developing software focused on the local search space, which allows advertisers to connect online advertising via a phone call.

BidShift Gets Win
San Diego-based BidShift said this week that it has added Abrazo Health Care of Phoenix to its list of customers. The provider of web-based staffing technology said that the six hospital health system in Phoenix has implemented its online flexible workforce technology. BidShift's software is used to schedule and coordinate nursing staff schedule vacancies across the network of hospitals.

Siderean Adds Metadata Generation
El Segundo-based Siderean Software has released new software for generating metadata. The company said that it's new software creates metadata for unstructured and structured data based on IBM's Unstructured Information Management Architecture. The metadata is used by enterprise software to better sort and display large amounts of information. Continuous Computing Upgrades Trillium Software
San Diego-based Continuous Computing announced this week that it has upgraded its Trillium IMS software. The software provides IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) protocols, along with other protocol upgrades. Among other upgrades, the company said that its software has been upgraded to GSM 29.002, Phase 2+ Specification, version 6.8.0 for 3G networks (Release-6). SMC Ships Powerline Adapters
Irvine-based SMC said this week that it is shipping a two new HomePlug 1.0 compatible products for home networking. The company's latest Turbo Powerline products integrate 802.11g wireless connectivity using existing electrical wiring to connect to a network. The devices connect existing Ethernet devices to power lines, so that users do not have to run wiring between rooms.
