Kodak, REAL D Ink 3-D Systems In Australia
Los Angeles-based REAL D said over the weekend that it has inked a deal with Kodak Digital Cinema to roll out digital 3-D cinema in Australia. The two companies are working together to roll out 3-D cinema systems in conjunction with Disney's Chicken Little premiere in the country in January. REAL D has been providing 3D technology for Chicken Little in the United States since early November. Kodak will provider projectors and software for the 3-D systems, as well as service and support.

Firm Acquires nuMedica
Mission Viejo California-based Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS) said last week that it has acquire Golden Colorado-based nuMedica, a provider of documentation software for emergency departments. nuMedica markets TrackingED, a web-based tracking solution for organization patient location and care status. Financial terms were not disclosed. PCTS is a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, and provides patient safety solutions to emergency departments of hospitals.

Impinj Raises $26.5M
Impinj, a Seattle-based fabless semiconductor company which maintains engineering and production offices in Newport Beach, said Friday that it has raised $26.5M in funding for its RFID products. The firm said that the latest round of funding came from GF Private Equity Group LLC, VentureTech Alliance, and existing investors ARCH Venture Partners, Madrona Venture Group, Mobius Venture Capital, Polaris Venture Partners, Unilever Technology Ventures, UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund, and the Viterbi G (More info...)

iSold It Raises $7.25M
Pasadena-based iSold It, a firm that operates an eBay drop off store franchise, said this morning that it has raised $7.25M in venture funding from Jacaranda Partners. The company said that the funding woul dbe used to accelerate the company's expansion into new e-commerce services and to introduce its services to new customers. Amp'd Mobile Ties Into Hollywood
Los Angeles-based cellular phone provider Amp'd Mobile this morning said that it is in a series of collaborations with Hollywood producers to provide original content for its users.
