Language Weaver reports that it has hired a sales director to drive sales and marketing efforts for the firm in Europe. Language Weaver provides statistical machine translation of difficult-to-translate languages such as Arabic. The company provides its products to both government and commercial customers.

Userplane Upgrades Chat, Messaging AppsLos Angeles-baed Userplane has upgraded its chat and messaging applications. The firm said that it has upgraded its Flash-based Webchat and Webmessenger applications to add streaming audio and video and mini-profiles to the chat portion, and personalization features to the web messaging app. Userplane's Webchat application also adds chat archiving, unlimited user video streams, and advanced administration functions. Userplane's software is used by social networking and other web sites.

JAMDAT Launches Title in EuropeJAMDAT Mobile announced this morning that it is launching the popular Sony Computers Entertainment title SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Mobile Recon in Europe. The provider of wireless entertainment titles said that the title will be available in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The title is already available in North America. The SOCOM title provides simulation, and squad-based strategy based on U.S. Navy SEAL missions.
