Linksys, Yahoo Team On Wireless Music
Irvine-based Linksys and Yahoo! Music have signed an agreement for the two firms to link their products. Linksys, a division of Cisco, and Yahoo said that they will integrate Yahoo! Music with the Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge. The two companies have developed a software plug-in for Yahoo's product which directly links to the Linksys bridge. The plug in allows users to stream music directly from Yahoo! Music. The plug in is available fromm with a Yahoo Music Unlimited subscription. The Linksys (More info...)

iQstor Signs European Reseller
Newbury Park-based iQstor Networks has signed a new reseller in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The provider of storage arrays said that it has signed Matrix Integrated Products to sell and support its SAN solutions line in Central and Easter Europe, Middle East, and North Africa. Matrix-IPI is headquartered in Southern California. iQstor provides SAN-based storage arrays and software.

XIFIN Names Board Member
San Diego-based XIFIN has named a new member to its board of directors. The firm reported this week that it has named Judd Jessup to its board. Jessup has served as US Labs, and has also served at FHP International and TakeCare. XIFIN is developing a web-based application for managing laboratory accounting, financials, and medical claims.

TagStream Collaborates On Barrel Tracking
Santa Barbara-based TagStream, a firm using RFID and WiFi technology to create tracking systems, said this week that it has signed a partnership with eSkye Solutions, a technology proivder to the the winery industry. The two firms will provide winemakers with barrel tracking systems. The two firms said that they will combine eSkye's production software with TagStream's tracking software. The new product comined RFID tags, wireless scanners, and software with production databases.

Novatel Gets Win At Dell
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, a manufacturer of broadband 3G modems, has scored a win at Dell. The firm said today that it will supply Dell with its EV-DO and HSDPA mobile broadband embedded modules for Dell's Latitude line of notebook computers. Novatel said that Dell will include its modems early this year. Novatel develops high speed 3G modems used to connect to cellular networks.

Provide Commerce Opens New Site
San Diego-based Provide Commerce, operators of the popular ProFlowers e-commerce site, said today that the firm has launched a new marketplace for providers of perishable goods. The firm said that its new Secret Spoon marketplace will offer cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, cakes, and other confections for nationwide delivery. Codie Finalists Named
Several Southern California firms have been named to the finalists of the prestigious Codie Awards, an annual award that honors the best products and services in the software industry. The awards, presented by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), named products from FileNet, Citrix Online, Streamload, CrownPeak, Kintera, WebSideStory, and Parasoft as finalists.
