Evite Adds Social Event Planning Service
Los Angeles-based Evite.com has launched a new service, targeted at party planning. The firm, a unit of IAC/Interactive, said that its new service extends it beyond online invitations to include tools for planning any social event. The new service includes checklists for keeping track of todos, a budget estimator, new invitations, recipe planning and suggestions, location listings, and more. The company is looking to become a one-stop-shop for planning any social event.

X1 Targets Legal Market
Pasadena-based X1 Technologies is targeting the legal market with a new connector to Interwoven's WorkSite document management tool. X1 said yesterday that it has released an X1 Content Connector which allows X1's Enterprise Edition software to search results of Interwoven's document management tools. AOL, Reality Show Producer Go Online
Mark Burnett Productions, producer of Survivor and other television reality shows, and America Online yesterday announced their plan to produce a reality show for exclusive broadcast online. The two companies said that Burnett will produce Gold Rush!, a show that will track challengers searching for hidden treasure across the United States. Clean Tech Fund Lands $40M Committment From CalPERS
Los Angeles-based Paladin Private Equity Partners said today that it has scored a $40M committment from the California Public Employee' Retirement Systems (CalPERS) for its new, California clean technology fund. CalPERS will be the lead investors in the new fund, which will target small and mid-cap companies that develop, manufacture, own, and promote clean environmental technologies. New VC Fund Targets Angel Groups
A new, Los Angeles venture capital fund, Angel-Led Venture Partners, is looking to tap into angel investors groups with a new fund. Kelly Perdew, past winner of The Apprentice, and Luis Villalobos, founder of the Tech Coast Angels are in the process of raising a new venture capital fund with a focus on the angel market. DispenseSource Raises $13.75M
Irvine-based DispenseSource has raised $13.75M in a new round of funding. Boodle Gets Strategic Investment From Tribune
San Diego-based Consumer Networks said today that Tribune Interactive, a division of Tribune Company, has completed a strategic investment in its boodle division. Boodle provides a coupon clipping and distribution service for local newspapers, providing national coupons to local papers. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.
