Intersperse Upgrades SOA Software
Pasadena-based Intersperse, a software provider developing monitoring and management solutions for the service-oriented architecture (SOA) market, has released an upgrade to its software. The firm said version 5.0 of its software supports WebLogic's popular application development tool, IBM WebSphere, Tomcat/JBoss, and Microsoft .NET environments. Kyocera Wireless Releases Mobile Router
San Diego-based Kyocera Wireless has released a new product that combines CDMA2000, EV-DO broadband wireless connectivity and Wi-Fi for setting up a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. The firm said that its new KR1 Mobile Router connects a single EV-DO connection to a Wi-Fi, 802.11g router to create a mobile hotspot for wireless access. QUALCOMM Names New Head of MediaFLO
San Diego-based Qualcomm has named a new president of its MediaFLO division. Qualcomm said that Gina Lombardi has been named to the position, succeeding Richard Sulpizio, interim president. Sulpizio will continue to serve on Qualcomm's board of directors. Lombardi has been at Qualcomm for 15 years, and was most recently VP of Marketing, Product Management, and Developer Relations at Qualcomm's Internet Services division. V-ENABLE Upgrades Mobile Software
San Diego-based V-Enable, a provider of software for the mobile market, has released an upgrade to its software for mobile search. The company said that it has released version 3.0 of its veCLIENT and version 6.0 of its veGATEWAY products, increasing the speed of searches on 3G networks such as EV-DO and UMTS/HSDPA. REAL D Expands In Europe
Los Angeles-based REAL D, the provider of 3D technology for Disney's Chicken Little film, announced this morning that the firm will install its systems in Britain and Germany for the film. The company said that Odeon, Vue, Cinema Theatre and Cinecitta Multiplexkino will install its systems in theaters. REAL D said that the installs would bring it to a total of 102 screens.

WebSideStory Acquires Visual Sciences
San Diego-based WebSideStory yesterday announced that it has acquired Visual Sciences, a provider of streaming data analysis and visualization software. WebSideStory said that it would pay approximately $57.3M in cash and stock for the 40-person firm. Visual Sciences provides real-time, data visualization for the web analytics business.
