SKY MobileMedia Integrates Software With Freescale
San Diego-based SKY MobileMedia, a developer of software for the mobile industry, announced this morning that it has integrated its 2.0 SKY-MAP mobile software with Freescale's i.MX21 multimedia applications processor. SKY's software is a Linux-based paltform for wireless application development. SKY's software provides the ability to create, edit, play, and stream multimedia content on mobile phones. SKY MobileMedia is backed by Enterprise Partners and Sid R. Bass Associates.

Jambo Scores Win At LA Weekly
Agoura Hills-based Jambo, a company developing pay-per-call technology for advertisers, said this week that it has signed on the LA Weekly for an advertising pilot program. Jambo said that it will run ads in LA Weekly's print publications, to generate phone leads for local advertisers. The company's advertisers will be represented in special guides within LA Weekly's upcoming editions. WebSideStory Sued By NetRatings
San Diego-based WebSideStory, a provider of web analytics software and services, has been sued by NetRatings, a competing vendor. WebSideStory said yesterday that it believes the claims lack merit, and that it will defend itself against the complaint. The suit was filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. NetRatings also has lawsuits filed against Coremetrics, Omniture, SageMetrics, and Sane Solutions alleging patent infringement.

MP3Car Rolls Out Car PC System
El Segundo-based MP3Car unveiled the company's product at the DEMO 2006 conference in Phoenix this week, saying that its hardware allows a conventional PC to completely replace a car stereo or navigation system. The new startup said that its product targets providing all essential in-car services, including car-quality audio, FM receivers, satellite radio, and Bluetooth mobile phone integration.

Accumetrics Raises $8.25M
San Diego-based Accumetrics has raised $8.25M in Series C funding. The firm, which is developing diagnostic tests for verifying platelet function in patients, raised the funding from RiverVest Venture Partners and Kaiser Venture Partners. The firm's previous investors also participated, including Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, KB Partners, and PTV Sciences. My interview this morning is with Charles Jolley, co-founder of SproutIt.com. SproutIt is launched its product this Monday at DEMO, and is developing software for handling email for small companies.
