SeQual Gets $4.35M In Funding
San Diego-based SeQual Technologies, a medical devices firm developing a portable oxygen system, has raised an investment round from new and existing investors. The firm said that the fund received $4.35M in a first closing of a $5M private placement. Funding came from private investors, and $2M from CAC, a La Jolla-based investment firm. Ixia Adds Layer 2-3 Validation Tools
Calabasas-based Ixia has rolled out a new, Level 2-3 network testing system for the performance and functional validation of those devices and networks. Ixia's new IxNetwork product is targeted at network equipment manufacturers and service providers, and provides Layer 2-3 testing. Maverick Angels Officially Launches Group
Los Angeles-based Maverick Angels, the angel group headed by former Keiretsu Forum Los Angeles President John Dilts, officially launched yesterday. The group said yesterday that it would launch Los Angeles, Westlake Village, and Santa Barbara events. Dilts recently left the Keiretsu Forum, where headed several of its Los Angeles chapters. Maverick Angels will hold entrepreneur workshops, seminars, along with providing early-stage companies with exposure to its angel network.

Interlink Completes Investigation, Restatement
Camarillo-based Interlink Electronics said today that it has completed the independent investigation being conducted by Dorsey & Whitney LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP into its accounting. The company said in November that it was restating results due to material weaknesses in its accounting controls. Interlink said that the investigation did not reveal additional material items, and said that it will make restatements in its 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2005. Rural America Lags In High Speed Internet
The Pew Internet and American Life Project has released a new study that shows that rural Americans still lag in the number of high speed internet connections, but that the gap is rapidly narrowing. The study, released this week, showed that only 24% of rural Americans have high speed Internet connections at home, compared with 39% of urban and suburban dwellers. CODA Genomics Raises $1.6M
Irvine-based CODA Genomics has raised $1.6M in a Series B financing. The firm riased the new round of funding from Life Science Angels, which led the round, as well as Monitor Ventures and previous investor Tech Coast Angels. Ken Kelley from Life Science Angels and Neil Bhadkamkar from Monitor Ventures join the company's board as part of the funding.
