Kamran Pourzanjani is the CEO and Founder of PriceGrabber.com, a Los Angeles-based company that operates one of the leading online comparison shopping sites for consumer products. Kamran sold the company last year to Experian for $485M, and I recently had a chance to tour the company's offices and speak with Kamran. United Online Acquired Opobox
Woodland Hills-bsaed United Online has acquired Opobox, the operator of an online social networking service called The Names Database. United Online said today that it will pay approximately $10M in cash for the company, and will incorporate The Names Database into its subsidiary Classmates Online. March Madness Breaks Online Records
CBS SportsLine is reporting that the NCAA's March Madness video on demand live video has had over 14 million streams of live video from the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball championship. The online Internet sports media site claimed today that the number surpasses the total number of streams served and visits recorded for any previous live event in Internet history. Fandango Partners With Cingular On Mobile Ticketing
Los Angeles-based Fandango has inked another mobile ticketing deal, reporting today that it will offer its mobile movie ticketing service via Cingular's network. The deal follows the launch earlier this month of access to Fandango's movie ticketing services on Sprint. Fandango's mobile ticketing service on Cingular offers voice commands, mobile ticketing, access to film reviews, show times, and maps, and alerts when new tickets are available.

THQ Taps Unreal For Game Engine
Agoura Hills-based THQ said Friday that it has signed a licensing agreement with Epic Games to use the firm's Unreal Engine 3 technology in its future products. Unreal's technology is used for game development on both console and Windows PC platforms. Terms were not disclosed. Unreal's engine is used for many first person shooter games.

Sony Online Invests In Database Maker
San Diego-based Sony Online Entertainment has made an equity investment in an open source database company. The online game operator said today that it has invested in EnterpriseDB, make of the open source EnterpriseDB Advanced Server database software, as a part of a deal to use the database in its online operations. CaminoSoft Signs Deal With CA
Westlake Village-based storage software maker CaminoSoft has signed a new deal with CA, saying today that it has extended its technology OEM licensing agreement with the firm. CaminoSoft said that CA will incorporate NetWare supports into its BrightStor HSM solution, using CaminoSoft's HSM technology. CA had earlier tapped CaminoSoft's technology for its BrightStor HSM tool for Windows 2000/2003. Financial terms were not disclosed.
