LogicBlaze Launches Web Services Suite
Marina Del Rey-based LogicBlaze today launched a new open source, SOA (Web Services) platform. The open source software firm said today that its LogicBlaze FUSE platform provides a packaged and pre-validated set of software for the SOA market. LogicBlaze has integrated software from the Apache Software Foundation and Apache Software Foundation Incubator, targeted at Web 2.0 applications. Iomega Adds To Board, Hires CFO
San Diego-based Iomega today said that it has appointed Dan Maurer to its board of directors, and hired a new CFO, Preston Romm. Maurer is currently VP of Marketing at Intuit, where he heads up the marketing for the popular Turbo Tax brand. Maurer fills the board position vacated by Iomega's ex-CEO, Werner Heid. Preston Romm joins Iomega from Dot Hill Systems, where he was VP of Finance, CFO, Treasurer and Secretary. Romm has also served at Verteq, MTI, and STM Wireless.

LightPointe Adds HDTV Optical Link
San Diego-based LightPointe, a developer of free space optics systems, has rolled out a new system that supports high bandwidth HDTV transmissions. The firm said today its new FlightStrata HD wireless solutions meets the requirements for sending High-Definition Television (HDTV) quality broadcast video and audio feeds across a wireless link.
