Insider Pages Leaves To Bay Area
Pasadena-based Insider Pages today announced that it is moving to Redwood Shores, as a result of a recent $8.5M investment round. Insider Pages said that it will relocate the company to Redwood Shores after receiving $8.5M in venture capital funding from Sequoia Capital and Softbank, along with Idealab. Insider Pages was originally an Idealab project company, headquartered in Pasadena. Vendors Patch Microsoft IE Bug
Security vendors are racing to patch a newly uncovered Microsoft security flaw, with Aliso Viejo-based eEye Security issuing a patch for the flaw. The security flaw, which was uncovered this week and has started to see exploits available on the web, is not scheduled to be patched by Microsoft until its April 11th security release. Jambo Adds Pay Per Call to Local.com
Agoura-based Jambo has signed a deal with Interchange, operator of the Local.com search engine, to offer pay-per-call capability to Local.com advertisers. Jambo announced the agreement yesterday. Jambo provides pay-per-call advertising, which connects online users with local businesses via phone. Local.com provides a locally focused search engine. Jambo is backed by Gary Leff and Associates, Kline Hawkes, and Westlake Venture Partners.

WebVisible Gets Canadian Win
Irvine-based WebVisible, a provider of online local advertising services, has scored a win with a Canadian publisher of Yellow Pages. WebVisible said yesterday that it has entered into a partnership with Canadian Yellow Pages Group to bring its services to the Canadian market. WebVisible provides local advertising products and services, which are marketed to yellow pages providers, newspapers, and others. WebVisible is venture backed by Redpoint Ventures.

Sequoia Communications Adds Technologist
San Diego-based Sequoia Communications has added the former CTO, Founder, and VP of Engineering for Magis Networks, Jim Crawford, as Senior Fellow. Sequoia Communications said yesterday that Crawford has joined the company after acting as an independent consultant to the firm. Crawford was co-founder and CEO and President of Silicon RF Systems, and Co-founder, CTO, and former VP of Engineering at Magis Networks. Ortiva Appoints CEO
San Diego-based Ortiva Wireless has named DeWayne A. Nelson as President and CEO. Sujit Dey, the company's existing CEO, will become CTO of the firm. Nelson was most recently President North American Telecoms for LogicaCMG. He has also served at XO Communications and Nortel. Ortiva is developing software for optimizing the quality of mobile TV< video, audio, and web content on wireless networks. The firm is backed by Artiman, Avalon Ventures, and Mission Ventures.

Kotura Names CTO
Monterey Park-based Kotura, a provider of photonics products, appointed a new CTO today. The firm named Mehdi Asghari, Ph.D., as Chief Technology Officer. Asghari joins Kotura from Bookham, Inc., where he was VP of Research and Development. Kotura is developing CMOS optical chips and components, used in the communications industry.

Bell Micro Rolls Out IP SAN Hardware
Bell Microproducts has rolled out new, IP-based SAN hardware based on technology from Irvine-based Zetera. Bell's Hammer Storage division rolled out a new line of network storage that incorporates technology from Zetera, targeted at business users. Hammer's Z-Series product family are available either as a 1U rackmount solution or desktop, with support for up to 2TB per device using SATA-1 or SATA-2 disk drives.
