My interview today is with Chuck Hoover, who is SVP of Marketing at Internet Brands (www.realestateabc.com). The firm just launched a new, Web 2.0 home valuation service yesterday and I thought it would be interesting to hear about the service. Venture Backed CEOs Getting Paid More
A new survey from Dow Jones VentureOne is showing that executives at U.S. venture-backed companies have seen a boost in pay this year, with an increase of $10,000 over median pay versus last year. The publisher reports that total salary and bonus compensation for CEOs of venture-backed companies is a median of $263,000, compared to $252,000 last year. Google Continues To Lead Web Searches
Nielsen/NetRatings released its latest Internet search traffic numbers yesterday, saying that Google continues to lead in search share for February. Google received 48.5 percent of all searches on the Internet in February, with Yahoo next in line with 22.5 percent. Third place search engine MSN search slipped for the month, with 10.7 percent of all searches. The rankings are in line with January results. MGM Launches New Media Division
Los Angeles-based Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios has opened up a new division focused on New Media, the studio said yesterday. The new MGM New Media division will be headed by Douglas A. Lee, who has served as a consultant for Comcast, Court TV and The Hinduja Group. Lee has also served as an executive at 20th Century Fox and HBO. MGM said that the division will oversee MGM's digital distribution strategy, along with broadband and wireless efforts and digital media.

DSLExtreme Acquired by IKANO
Los Angeles-based DSLExtreme has been acquired by Salt Lake City, Utah-based IKANO Communications, a provider of private-label Internet services. Terms were not disclosed. IKANO said that it has acquired DSLExtreme's assets for providing DSL, dial-up, hosting, email, and other services to customers. DSLExtreme will continue to maintain offices in Los Angeles. IKANO Communications provides private-label and wholesale Internet services, with a focus on dial-up subscribers.
