Robertson Funds Eyespot
Michael Robertson, founder of MP3.com, has funded another, Web 2.0 style firm in San Diego. Eyespot launched yesterday, and said that the new company will provide an online, AJAX-based video editor. The firm launched its first public version of its software, which allows users to upload their videos to the web, remix those videos online, add music tracks, and share those videos. IOGEAR Adds Skype Phone
Irvine, California-based IOGEAR has created a new hardware device that plugs into a PC, specifically for Skype, the Voice-over-IP calling service. IOGEAR announced Wednesday that its new USB VoIP Skype Calling Kit will provide a dial paid, microphone, headset, and two audio ports specifically for use with the Skype service. The new device also features an integrated USB 2.0 hub, mute button, and volume control. IOGEAR said that the retail price on the device is $69.95.

Morpho Ships WiMAX Solution, Gets New Funding
Irvine-based Morpho Technologies, a developer of digital signal processors (DSP) for the wireless market, has rolled out a new, integrated WiMAX system aimed at the mobile device marketplace. The firm said that the new system, which it is licensing to semiconductor companies, can help provide WiMAX connectivity for designers. Amp'd Taps Digital Music Distributor
Los Angeles-based Amp'd Mobile, the MVNO targeting the youth market, has tapped The Orchard, a distributor and marketer of independent music. The two companies said this week that they have entered into a partnership, where The Orchard will proivde music and video from its catalogue to Amp'd Mobile's US Customers. Boingo Ties Into Kineto Wireless
Santa Monica-based Boingo Wireless is in a new partnership with Kineto Wireless, a provider of wireless technology using unlicensed spectrum, the two companies said Wednesday. The two will work together to provide full interoperability between Boingo's Wi-Fi software and Kineto's UMA wireless system. Unlicense Mobile Access is a standard for connecting mobile voice, data, and instant messaging over technologies such as Wi-Fi. WebSense Goes Wireless
San Diego-base WebSense has set up a new division to focus on the wireless market. WebSense said that it has established a new wireless division specifically focused on the mobile internet environment. The firm said that it is working with Nortel Networks and other wireless solution providers. The division's wireless products will include support for WML and WAP, and will leverage the firm's database of URLs.
