Breach Security Raises $6M
Carlsbad-based Breach Security has raised $6M in a Series B venture funding form Sid R. Bass Associates and Enterprise Partners, the firm said this morning. Breach said that it would use the new investment to expand its sales and marketing initiatives. Breach Security develops web application firewall products, which are used by enterprises to protect web applications.

CalAmp Completes Dataradio Buy For $54M
Oxnard-based CalAmp, a provider of wireless communications hardware and systems, has completed its acquisition of Dataradio, a Canadian supplier of advanced wireless systems. The deal was worth $54M. Dataradio provides wireless data systems for the public safety, infrastructure and industrial systems markets. According to CalAmp, Dataradio has revenues of $32M for the 12-month period ending April 30th. Amp'd Ties Into MotoGP
Los Angeles-based Amp'd Mobile has signed on as the official U.S. Wireless Service Provider for the upcoming MotoGP Racing Series. Amp'd, which is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) targeted at the youth market, said that it would broadcast MotoGP's popular Grand Prix motorcycle racing events to handsets of its members. Computer Game Raises Hackles In Venezuela
A new computer game from Los Angeles-based Pandemic Studios is raising political hackles in Venezuela, for its depiction of the takeover of a South American nation. According to BBC News, the title, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, has caused Venezuelan congressmen to claim that the computer game is preparation work for a real invasion. Movielink Goes To Bollywood
Santa Monica-based video on demand service Movielink is targeting fans of the popular Indian Bollywood films, with a new, download service focused on Bollywood content. MovieLink today said that it has teamed with an international distributor of Bollywood content, EROS International, to provide on-demand movies through Movielink's internet video download service. Conexant Integrates DSL, Wi-Fi
Newport Beach-based semiconductor provider Conexant Systems has launched a new family of network processors that integrate DSL capability with Wi-Fi. Conexant said today that its new CX9461x is the first integrated network processor that integrates Wi-Fi, ADSL2plus, and Voice over IP (VoIP) functionality. Semtech Ships Data Acquisition Chip
Camarillo-based Semtech has shipped a new, ultra low power system on a chip targeted at data acquisition. Semtech announced today that its new SX8801R ultra low power, high-resolution system-on-a-chip (SoC) is used for data acquisition in micro-electro-mechanical (MEMs) sensors. The new device is targeted at battery operated devices, and uses in consumer, medical and industrial systems.
