Interview with Robert Brown, Pragmatic Solutions

Integrien Raises $10M
Irvine-based Integrien has raised $10 million in a Series B venture capital funding, the firm is announcing today. The new round of funding comes from Acartha Group, with additional funding from Integrien's existing investor Clearstone Venture Partners. Integrien develops a Manager of Managers (MOM), enterprise software for managing IT software resources. Salick Launches Cardiovascular Center With $75M Funding
Los Angeles-based Salick Cardiovascular Centers has announced that the company raised $75M in Series A funding from Warburg Pincus. The company is establishing outpatient treatment services for cardiovascular disease. The company will initially focus on facilities in New York and Southern California.

FileNet, Decru Partner On Content Management
Costa Mesa-based FileNet and Redwood City-based Decru, owned by NetApp, are in a new deal to provide encryption of documents in FileNet's content management systems. The two companies said that FileNet's F8 platform and Decru DataFort storage security appliances are part of a new combined solution that provides granular encryption of data and lifecycle management for content. Continuous Computing Adds Partners
San Diego-based Continuous Computing, a provider of telecom systems, has signed two new partnerships today. Continuous said that it has joined Texas Instruments' third party network, and signed a partnership with RadioFrame Networks. Continuous uses TI's TMS320C64x digital signal processors in its media blade systems for voice and video. SOA Software, Parasoft Partner On SOA Testing
Santa Monica-based SOA Software and Monrovia-based Parasoft are targeting Web Services testing this morning with a new partnership. SOA Software and Parasoft said they will offer an integrated runtime governance and testing suite for SOA users. Both companies are targeting the Service Oriented Architecture software market, an industry which is using XML to develop reusable software.

Conexant Rolls Out New WiFi Chip
Newport Beach-based Conexant has rolled out a new chip targeted at low power Wi-Fi, the company announced today. Conexant said that its new third generation, 802.11b/g device is targeted at battery-powered handheld products, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), MP3 players, and other hardware. The new CX53121 single chip solution provides wireless network functionality, power management, and support for Windows CE, Windows Mobile, and Linux.

Amp'd Taps Break
Los Angeles-based Amp'd Mobile has announced yet another content partnership, announcing today that it has partnered with Break.com, to develop BreakTV, a mobile entertainment channel that is focused on broadcasting "viral" videos over mobile handsets. Break.com is an online distributor of user generated content and videos. Amp'd is developing a MVNO service targeted at the youth market.
