Interview with Greg Pulier, Founder of Interactive Video Technologies
My interview today is with Greg Pulier, founder of Interactive Video Technologies (, a Los Angeles-based firm that is in the video webcasting space. IVT just raised a round of funding from Monitor Venture Partners and Tudor Ventures. The firm plays in what looks like a very hot video over the Internet market, with an enterprise twist.

Move Rolls Out The Welcome Wagon
Westlake Village-based Move has rolled out a new local neighborhood guide. The firm said this morning that it is rolling out a new on line local business directory,, which combines information about local businesses with consumer reviews and special offers. Move has tapped into Welcome Wagon, which is an existing brand which provides coupons and information to people who have recently moved into a neighborhood. Ocera Raises $12M
San Diego-based Ocera Therapeutics, a company that is developing treatments for gastrointestinal and liver diseases, has raised a $12M Series B round. Funding came from Sofinnova Ventures. The round also included participation by previous investors Domain Associates and Thomas, McNerney & Partners. Ocera said that it would use the funding for continued clinical development of the company's first product, which is in Phase II clinical trials for treatment of Crohn's disease.

TagWorld Ties Into "Snakes On a Plane"
Santa Monica-based TagWorld, a social networking site that competes against MySpace, has tied into the upcoming "Snakes on a Plane" movie from Samuel L. Jackson. The site, in conjunction with New Line Cinema, is holding a contest that challenges its users to create a video on why they should have a live chat with Samuel L. Jackson on the web site. MTI Completes Collective Technologies Acquisition
Irvine-based MTI Technology has completed its acquisition of Collective Technologies, an Austin, Texas-based provider of IT and infrastructure and systems integration. MTI said that the acquisition included over 90 consultants who operate in the area of business continuity, virtualization, migration and consolidation, and systems management, along with other areas. Collective will operate as a division of MTI, headquartered in Austin.

Bitfone Gets Chinese Win
Laguna Niguel-based BItfone, a provider of over-the-air firmware upgrade software, has scored a win in China. The company said today that ZTE Corporation, a provider of domestic telecom equipment for the Chinese market, has selected its software. ZTE will use its Device Management Client Suite to provide mobile device management. Bitfone develops technology for upgrading cell phone firmware over the air.

Continuous Computing Promotes Executives
San Diego-based Continuous Computing has promoted two of its executives, saying today that it has promoted Ron Pyles to EVP Sales and Marketing, and Garrett Choi to EVP of Engineering and Operations. Pyles formerly lead Continuous Computing's sales team, and adds product management, business development, marketing communications, and customer program management to his slate.
