MySpace Partners With SNOCAP For Music Sales
Los Angeles-based MySpace has inked a deal with SNOCAP, a provider of digital music distribution tools, to allow musicians and labels to sell music via the MySpace web site. The popular social networking site said today that the two will allow artists and record labels to sell their music from profile pages, from a digital storefront. Ducommon Acquires CMP Display Systems
Los Angeles-based Ducommon said this morning that it has acquired CMP Display Systems, a Newbury Park-based manufacturer of incandescent, electroluminescent, and LED panels and assemblies for the aerospace and defense industry. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. CMP is an $8.6M supplier to the military and defense industry. Ducommon Technologies develops systems for the missile and space sector.

Xirrus Targets Quality of Service
Westlake Village-based Xirrus is targeting users interested in quality of service with a new focus on QoS for voice and video over IP. The firm announced this morning that its hardware now supports quality-of-service, for Wi-Fi networks supporting voice and video over IP applications. The firm's switched Wi-Fi hardware now provides virtual LAN and prioritization of packets, allowing for policy-driven control of Wi-Fi traffic. Newport Media Samples DVB Chips
Lake Forest-based Newport Media, a provider of semiconductors for the mobile media market, said that it is sampling its products for Digital Video Broadcasing-Handhelds (DVB-H) and high mobility Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB-T) applications. The new chips are used by manufacturers of wireless handset and mobile digital TV. Newport is targeting the mobile television market with an integrated chip for receving digital video. BidShift Signs Philadelphia Health Provider
San Diego-based BidShift, a provider of web-based workforce management systems, has signed on Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, a Philadelphia-based provider of healthcare services. BidShift said that Albert Einstein will use its services at its Medical Center and a number of other health care facilities that it operates in the Philadephia area.
