Aristos Logic Raises $15M
Foothilld Ranch-based Aristos Logic has raised $15M in a Series F funding round, the firm said today. The round was led by an undisclosed strategic investor, and included existing investors Panorama Capital (formerly JP Morgan Partners), TPG Ventures, Woodside Fund, and QTV Capital. Aristos Logic develops RAID storage processors for the data storage market. The firm said the investment came in conjunction with a top tier OEM design win.

QAD Buys Transportation Management Software Firm
Carpinteria-based QAD said Wednesday afternoon that it has acquired Precision Software Limited, a Dublin, Ireland-based provider of transportation management software. The total price for the firm is approximately $14.5M. QAD said that the acquisition would allow it to expands its capabilities and offerings. Precision Software develops transportation management systems that integrate with QAD's enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. Web 2.0 Investments Hit $262.3M
Dow Jones VentureOne is reporting this morning that investments in U.S. Web 2.0 companies has hit $262.3M in the first half of 2006. The publisher of venture capital data said that 49 Web 2.0 companies were funded in the first half of 2006, for a total of $262.3M in investments, compared to 51 deals and $199.1M in companies in all of 2005. X Prize Foundation Sells Seats To Lunar Lander Challenge
Los Angeles-based X PRIZE Foundation, the organization behind the X PRIZE spaceship cup, said Wednesday that it will offer tickets for sale to the public for the upcoming $2 million Lunar Lander Challenge. The Lunar Lander Challenge is designed to encourage private companies to develop possible lunar lander designs. The two day event will be held in New Mexico in October. Zetera Touts Shipment Numbers
Irvine-based Zetera, a provider of IP storage networking products, is reporting that it has shipped more than 100,000 devices using its technology. The firm provides technology used to connecting storage over low cost IP connections. Zetera's products use a proprietary IP protocol that competes against the iSCSI industry standard. Zetera's technology is used in products from NETGEAR, Bell Microproducts, and others.

Bid4Spots Launches Bidding Tool
Los Angeles-based Bid4Spots, a reverse auction marketplace for unsold radio ad inventory, has rolled out a new bidding tool for its customers. The firm said Wednesday that its PowerBidder tool allows general sales managers to enter rates on bidding against multiple auctions. The firm also said hit reached a milestone of 1,000 of its auctions, and $2M in auction winnings. Bid4Spots provides reverse auction markets for radio airtime, used by radio stations to fill unsold airtime.

SalesBuilder Signs OEM Customer
Los Angeles-based SalesBuilder, a company developing lead management software, said this week that it has signed Runaware as an OEM of the firm's technology. Runaware, which provides online software evaluation services, will tap SalesBuilder's lead capture technology to engage software evaluation prospects. SalesBuilder's software provides behavioral profiling of customers. SalesBuilder is headed by Olivier Chaine, former VP of Technology at LowerMyBills.com.
