MiCardia Gets $9M
Irvine-based MiCardia has raised $9M in a venture funding from HBM Biocapital, Japan Asia Investment Company, Ltd., the MedFocus Family of Funds, the BioStar Private Equity Fund, LLC, and individuals. MiCardia is developing non-invasive and minimally invasive adjustable cardiovascular implants for the treatment of various stages of Congestive Heart Failure ("CHF"). The firm said the funding would enable it to accelerate its development plans.

DivX Prices IPO, Set To Hit Market Today
DivX is set to hit the market this morning, saying that it has priced its initial public offering at $16.00 per share. DivX is offering 9,100,000 shares of its common stock on the Nasdaq today under the symbol DIVX, for a total IPO amount of $145.6M. The firm also said that its selling stockholders have been granted a 30-day option to purchase an additional 1,365,000 shares to cover over-allotments. Stamps.com Teams With NFL
Los Angeles-based Stamps.com is teaming up with the NFL to offer PhotoStamps featuring the entire NFL line-up. Stamps.com said today that the new stamps, which it has created under a license with the NFL, will feature team logos and helmet designs for all 32 NFL teams. Football fans will be able to order custom, NFL-themed U.S. postage from Stamps' popular PhotoStamps service. Stamps.com is a provider of Internet-based postage services.

Greenlight Wireless Integrates With Bloglines
Irvine-based Greenlight Wireless, developer of Skweezer, a mobile conversion technology that optimized web pages for mobile devices, is announcing today an agreement to integrate with Bloglines. The two companies have integrated the mobile version of Bloglines RSS aggregation service with Skweezer. Users of Bloglines Mobile can now view mobile optimized pages through their favorite RSS feeds, which allows users to more easily view and navigate web pages on the small displays found on cell phones (More info...)

QLogic Gets Cisco, EMC Qualification
Aliso Viejo-based QLogic said Thursday that its SANbox switch modules for the IBM BladeCenter have been qualified by Cisco Systems and EMC. The firm, which develops storage switches used for storage area networking and data storage, said that the modules were qualified by Cisco for use with Cisco's MDS 9000 director switch. Carlsbad-based PrintDepartment.com and real estate marketing firm Gooder Group said this week that the two have teamed up to produce turn-key, printed newsletter for business professionals.
