Cooking.com Powers Starbucks Online Order Program
Starbucks said Thursday that it has joined forces with Santa Monica-based Cooking.com to launch a new, auto-reorder subscription program for its coffee. The new Starbucks at Home service will allow customers to get Starbucks Coffee delivered to their home or office on a customized schedule. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Demand Media Raises $100M
Santa Monica-based Demand Media has raised $100M in a second round of funding, the firm announced today. The new round was led by 3i and Oak Investment Partners, and also included Spectrum Equity Investors. Demand Media is headed by former MySpace Chairman Richard Rosenblatt. The company said that it would use the funding to increase the company's organic and strategic growth. Power-One Buys Magnetek's Power Electronics Group
Camarillo-based Power-One, a provider of power supplies, said this morning that it is paying $88.4M to acquire the power electronics group of Chatsworth-based Magnetek. The firm will also assume the company's debt. Magnetek's POwer Electronics Group is a provider of power supplies and alternative energy products. Buena Vista Games Buys Climax Racing
Burbank-based Buena Vista Games, a developer of interactive entertainment titles, has acquired Climax Racing, a title from London-based Climax. Climax will become the third internal studio for Buena Vista Games, and the first in Europe. Buena Vista Games is the interactive affiliate of Walt Disney, and develops titles for Disney. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Climax is a developer of racing games, including MotoGP and ATV Offroad Fury. The firm employs more than 100 in Brighton, England.

Vivendi Games Buys Two Game Studios
Los Angeles-based Vivendi Games has acquired two game development studios, the company said this morning. Vivendi is buying Issaquah, Washington-based Secret Lair Studios, and Shanghai, China-based Studio Ch'in. Financial terms were not disclosed. The two firms will become part of Vivendi's Sierra Online division. Both firms will be focused on new platforms like Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade. LeadPoint Gets Win With the New York Times
Los Angeles-based LeadPoint, a venture-backed firm developing a marketplace for buying and selling consumer leads, said last night that it has reached a deal with The New York Times Company. The New York Times Company will use Leadpoint's voice leads technology to connect consumers to lenders on its web sites, including The New York Times and The BOston Globe.
