Skweezer Powers Ask Mobile Search
Irvine-based Greenlight Wireless has scored a major win today with Ask.com, saying this morning that its Skweezer software for mobile devices has been integrated into its new Ask Mobile service. The new Ask Mobile service, which was launched today, provides web optimized pages and RSS feeds for handheld devices. Greenlight's Skweezer service, which takes any web page and compresses and optimizes it for mobile phones, are being used by Ask for presenting web pages found through its searches. Smith Micro, Anonymizer Release Anonymous Surfing Software
Aliso Viejo-based Smith Micro Software and San Diego-based Anonymizer announced this morning that they have released a new software suite for anonymous web surfing. Smith Micro has released Anonymizer Anonymous Surfing Platinum, a suite of Internet protection software that includes features such as disposable email addresses, privacy features, anti-spyware, encryption, and anti-spam capability. The new software will retail for $49.99 from Smith Micro and its retailers.

Streamload Touts Traffic Numbers
San Diego-based Streamload is touting its traffic, saying this week that it is now seeing more than 750,000 uploads of files a day. Streamload, which provides an online file storage service, said that its service has seen more than a 300 percent increase in the number of music, video, photo, and documents upload to the service since January. Whyville Adds Former Neopets SVP To Advisory Board
Los Angeles-based Whyville, an online virtual world targeted at children and young teenagers, said Wednesday that it has named Jeff Snetiker, former Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning for Neopets, to its board of advisors. Snetiker has also served at Talk City, where he was CFO, as well as Paramount Pictures, Group W Productions, Reeves Communications and United Paramount Network. LeisureLink Adds VP
Pasadena-based LeisureLink, which is developing an online vacation rental service, said today that it has named a new executive. LeisureLink has hired Steve Reich as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Reich has served at Digital Insight and Treasure Services Corp. LeisureLink is backed by Clearstone Venture Partners.
