QFour Digital Gets Investment From GTCR
Santa Barbara-based QFour Digital, a new firm focused on acquiring and operating companies in the online advertising and marketing industry, received an investment earlier this week from GTCR, a private equity firm. QFour will be headed by former ValueClick COO and Commission Junction CEO Jeffrey Pullen. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. Inlustra Technologies Adds Angels
Santa Barbara-based Inlustra Technologies, a company developing Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor substrates, has raised a round of angel funding from the Tech Coast Angels, socalTECH has learned. Inlustra's founders are Ph.D. students from UC Santa Barbara, and previously won the top prize at UCSB's Technology Management Program business plan competition.

MySpace Ramps Up Copyright Protection Efforts
Los Angeles-based MySpace, on the heels of rolling out signature-based music detection technology to find copyright violations in music posted to the site, has now put in further measures to limit copyrighted material on the popular social networking web site. The firm said today that it plans to launch a new tool that will allow copyright holders to easily remove content they believe is unauthorized. ESET, Tri Synergy Team On Anti-Virus Promotion
San Diego-based ESET and Dallas, Texas-based Tri Synergy this week said they have entered a strategic alliance, where ESET will offer a trial version of the firm's NOD32 Antivirus software to people who purchase Tri Synergy titles. ESET will also offer a 2-for-1 promotion on its products to Tri Synergy customers. ESET is a manufacturer of antivirus software; Tri Synergy operates a business that allows independent developers to publish their own entertainment software titles.

Triage Medical Names CEO
Irvine-based Triage Medical, a medical device product in the area of orthopedic products for treatment of spine conditions, said this week that it has named a new CEO. Walter A. Cuevas has joined the firm as Chief Executive Officer. Cuevas has previously served at Edwards Laboratories, Allergan, and Medtronic, and was most recently President and CEO of 3F Therapeutics.
