Intuit Buys Digital Insight For $1.35B
Mountain View-based Intuit said this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Calabasas-based Digital Insight, a provider of online banking services for credit unions and banks, in a deal worth approximately $1.35 billion. According to Intuit, it will pay $39 per share in cash for each Digital Insight common share. Spark Taps Userplane For Messaging
Beverly Hills-based Spark Networks, a provider of online personals services, said yesterday that it has teamed up with Los Angeles-based Userplane to launch new live and anonymous calling and interactive game services. Spark will launch the new services using Userplane's Webchat and Webmessenger applications. The new features will be available on Spark's AmericanSingles, Date.ca, and CollegeLuv online communities. Google Highlights UCLA-USC Rivalry
Google said this morning that it is highlighting the UCLA-USC rivalry on its Google Video property, as part of an effort to cover college football rivalries. Google said it will have a crew from Google Video filming at tailgates, and at the events, and post those at a service specifically targeted at college football fans. The UCLA-USC Rivalry coverage comes in addition to coverage the site has given to Texas A&M vs. Texas, Florida State vs. Florida, and Ohio State vs. Michigan.

Gateway Gets Win At Health Provider
Irvine-based PC maker Gateway said today it has signed on a healthcare provider in Colorado in a multi-year contract worth $3M. Gateway said that Colorado-based Poudre Valley Health System has signed a contract where Gateway will serve as the sold PC supplier for its healthcare facilities. The deal includes serverse, notebooks, desktop PCs, and flat screen displays. The deal includes systems at the new Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.

Symantec Adds Iomega REV Support
San Diego-based Iomega reports that the firm's removable REV drives have gained native support from Symantec's popular Backup Exec software. The data storage product provider said that Symantec's Backup Exec 11d now natively supports the firm's REV drives, including support for its autoloader. Iomega said that customers previously were required to make manual configuration changes to Backup Exec in order to support the firm's storage offering.
