Oversee.net Acquires LowFares.com
Los Angeles-based Oversee.net said today that it has acquired LowFares.com, a travel product comparison research site. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. LowFares.com provides side-by-side price comparisons of travel sites, and provides travel leads to advertisers like Priceline.com, Hotwire.com, Expedia.com, Cheapair.com, and Orbitz.com. Great Pacific Capital Opens VC Fund
Santa Barbara-based Great Pacific Capital announced Wednesday that the firm has opened up a new early stage fund focused on the region. The firm, which is headed by former Fastclick CEO Dave Gross, said it will look to address the growing base of technology opportunities in the region. Experian Opens R&D Center Headed By LowerMyBills Founder
Irvine-based Experian Interactive has opened a new research and development arm, the firm said Wednesday, which will focus on creating new lines of business. The new Experian Interactive Innovation Center will be headed by Matt Coffin, founder and president of LowerMyBills.com. According to the company, the team there will identify and develop new business opportunities that utilize Experian's data and analytics along with existing brands.
