Autobytel Sells AIC Business
Irvine-based Autobytel has sold its Automotive Information Center (AIC) business to R.L. Polk & Co., the firm said today, as Autobytel looks to focus on its Internet business. Autobytel, which had previously announced that it was looking at strategic alternatives for AIC, did not disclose purchase terms. Autobytel will continue to license the use of AIC data with its Internet businesses. R.L. Corvel Buys Hazelrigg Risk Management Services
Irvine-based Corvel Corporation, a provider of healthcare IT services and e-commerce applications, said today that it has acquired the assets of Hazelrigg Risk Management Services and affiliated companies. Hazelrigg is a provider of medical management, clains processing, and technologies services for the worker's compensation market. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Shipwire.com Launches Logistics Service
Los Angeles-based Shipwire.com has launched a new, online warehousing and shipping service targeted at online small businesses at DEMO 2007. Shipwire said it will offer small businesses outsourcing of receiving, warehousing, and shipping of merchandise, starting at $29.95 per month for small businesses. The new company said that it is looking to appeal to anyone starting a new business or expanding into a new market.

Versora Upgrades Migration Software
Santa Barbara-based Versora announced Wednesday that the firm has upgraded its desktop migration software to support Vista, along with other updates. Versora, which supplies tools for migrating users from Windows to Linux machines, said that its upgraded Progression Desktop For Windows 3.5 software now also supports migration of multiple user accounts, Office 2007, and is now available as a source code license.

LogicalApps Gets Win With JDSU
Irvine-based LogicalApps has signed on a new customer, JDSU, for its compliance software. LogicalApps said this week that it has been selected by JDSU to automate the firm's internal controls and manage Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements. Size of the deal was not disclosed.

VMIX Names Contest Winner
San Diego-based online video sharing web site VMIX.com said today that it has named a winner for its "Create Our Commercial" content sponsored by JVC. The JVC and VMIX promotion awarded $2500 to a user of VMIX, who created an ad which will be broadcast on national television. The award wen to Martin Whittier of Perryville, Maryland.
