Autobytel Launches MyRide.com Automotive Search Engine
Irvine-based Autobytel is launching a new, automotive web site, MyRide.com, the firm said this weekend at the 2007 National Automobile Dealers Association Conference. The new site will focus on providing vertical search for automotive information. Practical Instruments Adds Solar Installers
Pasadena-based solar panel firm Practical Instruments said today that it has added three new solar installers for the firm's products. Practical Instruments said that it has added Energy Options, Permacity Corporation and Advanced Solar Electric, all based in Southern California, as installers of its solar panels. eHarmony Creates R&D Lab
Pasadena-based online dating service eHarmony said today that it has launched eHarmonyLabs, a commercial research organization dedicated to the study of human relationships. eHarmony said the new lab will research relationships and be used to bring new products and aservices to market. According to the firm, eHarmonyLabs has formed a scientific advisory board made up of scientists from UCLA, the University of Chicago, the University of Connecticut, and Rockefeller University. Amp'd Partners With Medio On Mobile Search
Los Angeles-based Amp'd Mobile said today that it is in a partnership with Medio Systems to launch a new search application for its users. The mobile search platform will allow users to find information using Amp'd mobile phone service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal includes ringtones, wallpaper, games, and mobile web and business listings. The new search feature will be available on all Amp'd mobile phones.

VitalStream Adds Saatchi & Saatchi As Customer
Costa Mesa-based VitalStream Holdings, a provider of a rich media content delivery network, said today that advertising firm Saatchi & Saatchi has selected the firm to provide Flash video streaming. Saatchi has tapped VitalStream for a new online community for Toyota hybrid vehicles. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal involved Saatchi & Saatchi's LA office.

Guidance, Bit9 Collaborate
Pasadena-based Guidance Software, a provider of digital forensics software, said today that it is partnering with Bit9, to combine its software with Bit9's file identification database. Bit9's database provides technology that uses digital fingerprinting to determine digital file types.

Aliso Viejo-based QLogic, a provider of host bus adapters for the storage area networking market, said today that its 4050 Series iSCSI HBAs now support VMware's Infrastructure 3 software. VMware's Infrastructure 3 product provides server and storage virtualization for the enterprise environment.

Orange-based 8e6, a provider of software for Internet filtering and reporting, said today that it has partnered with GTB Technologies on a data leakage appliance. 8e6 said it plans to integrate its new data leakage product into its Web filtering and reporting infrastructure. 8e6's appliance will monitor and block confidential information being sent across networks.

Numira Merges With Visual Influence
Irvine-based Numira Biosciences, a firm developing genetics and molecular imaging tools, said Friday that it has acquired Salt Lake City, Utah-base Visual Influence. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Visual Influence is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Numira. Visual Influence develops high-performance, custom rendering and image analysis software for medical imaging and scientific data management.
