Helio Launches Music Service
Los Angeles-based MVNO Helio announced today that it has launched a new mobile music service, as part of its 3G services. The firm said that it is launching a full mobile, over-the-air music download service. The new service will feature artists from Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and EMI Music. The new service also includes download of music onto PCs. Websense Adds Leak Prevention Software
San Diego-based Websense announced today that it has added new leak prevention software to its lineup. The new software, the Websense Content Protection Suite, targets the information leak detection market. The Websense software will prevent unauthorized use or disclosure of confidential data, and will also audit and discover sensitive data on a network. The new product comes from technology Websense acquired from PortAuthority Technologies in January.

Skyriver Communications Gets Line of Credit
San Diego-based Skyriver Communications, a provider of wireless broadband communications services for businesses, said today it has received a working line of credit and equipment financing line from Comerica Bank. Skyriver said it will use the funding to upgrade its network to next generation WiMAX technology, as well as for targeted acquisitions.

Epicor, RSA Team On Encryption
Epicor|CRS, the retail solutions division of Irvine-based Epicor Software, said today that it is in a strategic technology alliance with RSA. Epicor said that it will use RSA's Key Manager software witin its point of sale solutions. RSA's product provides encryption key management. Epicor|CRS provides software and services to specialty retailers.

QLogic Gets Switch Certification
Aliso Viejo-based QLogic announced this morning that EMC has qualified the firm's SANbox 9000 core switch. QLogic said that EMC has qualified the firm's QLogic SANbox 9100 and 9200 Fibre Channel core switches with the EMC CLARiiON and EMC Symmetrix DMX storage systems. The certification of the new equipment means that QLogic's full line of storage switches has now been qualified by EMC. QLogic is a provider of chips, host bus adapters, and fabric switches for the storage networking market.

Novatel Wireless Launches EV-DO Rev A. on Sprint
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless announced today that its EV-DO Rev. A. card is now available commercially for Sprint's network. Novatel's EV-DO Rev A. product providing assisted GPS for location based services and higher data speeds, in areas where Sprint has deployed its next generation EV-DO Rev A. coverage. The new hardware will be available late this month in Sprint retail stores.

Xirrus Gets Win
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a provider of Wi-Fi hardware, said this morning that Car Sound Exhaust Systems, Inc. has selected the firm's Wi-Fi arrays for its manufacturing, distribution, and warehouse facility. The win involves six of the firm's Wi-Fi Arrays, which will provide 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi connectivity. Xirrus is a manufacturer of an integrated Wi-Fi switch, targeted at providing better coverage and throughput for wireless access points.

Nexsan Ups iSCSI Performance
Woodland Hills-based Nexsan Technologies has upgraded the firm's iSCSI support, the company said this week. Nexsan said that it has boosted performance of its iSCSI support on its SATABeast and SATABoy storage arrays. The firmware upgrade allows for performance of 100 MB per second with a single iSCSI port, and 180 megabytes per second using dual ports. The upgrade is available for free to the firm's customers. Nexsan is a manufacturer of SATA-based storage arrays.
