Veoh Relaunches Site
Los Angeles-based Veoh, the venture backed video distribution and sharing site, said yesterday that the firm has launched a new site, adding a number of social networking tools to the firm's services. Veoh has added new features including a player that can download content from any video site and automatically post videos to sites like Google Video, YouTube, and MySpace, and Facebook; along with new advertising options that allows video publishers to add advertising to their posts. Citrix Online Sees Growth
Santa Barbara-based Citrix Online is reporting that it has seen 50 percent year-to-year growth, and had nearly $150M in revenues in 2006. The firm, which provides remote desktop access, web conferencing, and webinar software through software-as-a-service, has been seeing rapid growth from adoption of its tools.

Smith Micro Gets Win In Israel
Aliso Viejo-based Smith Micro Software, a maker of communications software tools, said today that its QuickLink music application has been selected by an Israeli cellular operator. Pelephone, a cellular provider in Israel, will include Smith Micro's QuickLink Music software with its music-cable handsets. The software will be used for downloading and managing music on to their PCs and for transfer to their mobile phones.

Xencor In Licensing Agreement
Monrovia-based Xencor, which develops proteins and antibodies, announced Tuesday that it is in a licensing and commercialization agreement with Boehringer Ingelheim. The two will apply Xencor's technology platform to Boehringer Ingelheim's antibody drug candidates. The deal includes an upfront payment, license fees, milestone, and royalty payments. Specific financials were not disclosed.

Networks In Motion Makes Tools Available on Sprint
Irvine-based Networks In Motion, a provider of location-based services software, said this week that its tools are now available to Sprint independent software vendors. Networks in Motion's software tools for developing location-based services are now available through Sprint's Application Developer Program. Networks In Motion develops software tools for BREW and Java, an is venture backed by Redpoint Ventures, Mission Ventures, and Sutter Hill Ventures.

Shopzilla Names President As Mohit, Phelps Depart
Santa Monica-based Shopzilla has named William Glass, the firm's current COO, to President of the online service. Shopzilla said yesterday afternoon that current president John Phelps and co-founder and chief product officer Farhad Mohit will be leaving operating roles at the company, although Mohit will retain title of chairman emeritus. Shopzilla said that Phelps will assist in management transition at the firm. Shopzilla was acquired by E.W. Scripps in June of last year.

Market Scan Buys Dealer Training Firm For $36M
Westlake Village-based Market Scan Information Systems, a provider of financing software for the automotive dealer industry, said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired Paul D. Cummings World Wide Enterprises, in a deal worth $36M. Paul D. Cummings World Wide Enterprises Corporation provides online training and dealer management for the automotive industry. PDCWWE is based in Wildwood, GA.
