Inogen Raises $22M
Santa Barbara-based Inogen announced today that it has raised $22M in funding from Novo A/S, Arboretum Ventures, Versant Ventures, Avalon Ventures, and Accuitive Medical Ventures. The new funding will go towards new manufacturing capabilities for the firm. Heath Lukatch of Novo will join Inogen's board as part of the funding. Inogen is developing oxygen therapy medical devices.

SunGard Acquires Aceva Technologies
SunGard said today that it has acquired Aceva Technologies, a provider of receivables management software. Financial terms were not disclosed. Aceva will become part of SunGard's Calabasas-based AvantGard business unit, and marketed under the AvantGard Receivables brand. Aceva Technologies is venture backed by Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, and Clearstone Ventures.

Lawsuit Against MySpace Dismissed
Los Angeles-based MySpace said Wednesday that the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas has dismissed a lawsuit against the firm. The negligence lawsuit was filed against MySpace by the families of two tteenage girls who were victims of predators they met on MySpace. The families were seeking $30M in the case.

Yellowpages.com Adds User Generated Content
Pasadena-based Yellowpages.com, a provider of online local business information, said today that it has rolled out user reviews on its national site. The firm, which is a subsidiary of AT&T, said it would allow consumers to share opinions on local and national businesses on its reviews service. The new review service allows consumers to rate companies with a one to five star review, and also allow advertisers to respond to ratings and reviews.

Guidance Software Adds Board Member
Pasadena-based Guidance Software announced this morning that it has appointed a new member of its board of directors. Guidance has appointed former SEC Chief Accountant Lynn Turner to the firm's board. Turner will also serves on the firm's audit committee, and is currently managing director of research at Glass Lewis & Co. Guidance Software is a provider of computer forensics software used for computer investigations.

Abraxis Bioscience Buys Manufacturing Complex From Pfizer
Los Angeles-based Abraxis BioScience said this week that it has completed the acquisition of a manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico from Pfizer. The firm, which develops products for the oncology, infectious disease, and critical care healthcare areas, said that the 56-acre site includes 172,000 square feet of manufacturing capabilities for injectable pharmaceuticals. The firm will begin commercial manufacturing from the site in the first half of 2007.

QLogic Gets HP Design Win
Aliso Viejo-based QLogic has scored a design win for its 4Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapters in HP's new Integrity rx2660 entry level servers. QLogic said that its SANblade 4Gb Fibre Channel 2460 Series PCI Express HBAs are now available for the new server line. The HBAs support HP-UX, Windows, Linux, and OpenVMS operating systems.

Ixia Adds Interoperability Test Support
Calabasas-based Ixia, a provider of communications and networking test products, said this week that it has added the ability to test interoperability of fixed mobile convergence and 3G video telephony codecs. The firm said that it has added new capabilities to its IxMobile 3G telephony test solution to support tests from the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and the PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB), including GSM-AMR-WB and H.264 support. Newport Media Ships Single-Chip DVB Silicon
Lake Forest-based Newport Media has announced a new single chip Digital Video Brodcasting - Terrestrial (DVB-T) chip, the firm said this week. The new Diversity Digital Video Broadcasting -Terrestrial (DVB-T) / DVB-Handhelds (DVB-H) RF tuner and demodulator solution is used by hardware designers to design mobile handsets with support for mobile TV broadcast standards. Newport Media said engineering sames will be available in Q2.
