Vivendi Games Acquires Wanako Games
Los Angeles-based Vivendi games announced this morning that it has acquired Santiago, Chile-based Wanako games. wanako is a game development studio developing Xbox Live titles. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wanako developed the Xbox Live Arcade title Assault Heroes, and is working on 3-D Ultra Minigolf Adventures. Esteban Sosnik, founder and CEO of Wanako Games, will become head of Sierra Online's Latin America division.

Acquicor Technology Completes Merger With Jazz Semi
Newport Beach-based Acquicor Technology, the merger and acquisition firm headed by former Apple execs Gil Amelio, Ellen M. Hancock and Steve Wozniak, said today that it has completed its merger with Jazz Semiconductor. The new firm wil lbe known as Jazz Technologies. The deal was worth $260.1M. The firm will trade under the name JAZ on the American Stock Exchange. Jazz Semiconductor is a provider of mixed signal CMOS semiconductors, and was a spinout of Conexant funded by The Carlyle Group.

ViaSat Buys Intelligent Compression Technologies
Carlsbad-based ViaSat announced today that it has acquired Intelligent Compression Technologies, a provider of data compression products for the communications market. The deal is worth $20M, in a combination of cash and stock. ViaSat said that it would pay $6.5M in cash and the 416,727 shares of its common stock for Intelligent Compression Technologies, and up to $34.3M in cash or stock in earn out. ViaSat is a provider of communications products for the satellite and communications market.

Central Desktop Adds Spreadsheets
Pasadena-based Web 2.0 project collaboration firm Central Desktop announced today that it has expanded its online platform with the addition of online spreadsheets. The firm has tapped spreadsheets from EditGrid, allowing users to share and collaborate on real-time spreadsheets. The new spreadsheet capability allows for the import and export of spreadsheets from Microsoft Excel, along with other file formats. EditGrid is a product of Teams and Concepts. Soapbox Mobile Adds Executives
San Diego-based Soapbox Mobile has added two new executives to its team, the firm announced this morning. The provider of mobile marketing services said that it has named Kristen Fox as VP of Professional Services, and Kevin Granath as VP of Sales and Business Development. Fox was most recently at Mobile ESPN Publishing; Granath was most recently at ESPN.com. Soapbox Mobile is venture backed by Equal Elements.

Trinet Internet Solutions Buys Design Firm
Irvine-based Trinet Internet Solutions said today that it has acquired Silas Partners, a provider of online communications and Internet marketing for the Christian and non-profit market. Financial terms were not disclosed. Trinet is a provider of web design services for the nonprofit and religious ministries.
