Brickfish Lands $11.2M
San Diego-based Brickfish said today that it has raised $11.2M in a Series A financing, for the firm's user-generated content and advertising site. The round was led by DCM, and also included Draper Richards L.P., Draper Associates, Mangrove Capital, and OCA Ventures. The capital will be used to fund the company's growth and product development. IDM Pharma Gets $12.8 in PIPE
Irvine-based IDM Pharma announced today that it has closed a private placement, raising $12.8M. The publicly traded firm said that investors in the round included Palo Alto Investors, along with existing investor Alta Partners. IDM Pharma is a biopharmaceuticals firm focused on treating cancer.

Sendio Announces $4M in Funding
Irvine-based Sendio formally announced the firm's funding today, saying that it raised $4M in a round of private equity funding from KH Growth Equity Fund. Sendio develops email appliances for blocking unwanted email and viruses. socalTECH first covered the funding last week.

Internap Completes Acquisition of VitalStream
Internap Network Services and VitalStream Holdings announced today that both of the company's stockholders have approved Internap's acquisition of VitalStream, and that the transaction has been completed. The deal, which was originally announced in October of last year, was worth $217M when announced. VitalStream was a provider of video and audio streaming services.

MojoPages Launches Local Search Product
San Diego-based MojoPages.com has launched its services, saying today that it has launched a service the combines YellowPages and social networking in a single product. The firm has launched a business directory that incorporates Web 2.0 technology, including reviews, ratings, and search, and social networking. The new site includes Web 2.0 features such as Q&A and trusted groups.

Language Weaver Gets Intelligence Win In Spain
Los Angeles-based Language Weaver said Tuesday that it has signed a strategic marketing and integration agreement with Interligare of Madrid, Spain. Interligare will integrate Language Weaver's automated translation tools into a intelligence tool for government, security, and intelligence entities in Spain. According to Language Weaver, Interligare will use the firm's Arabic/English and Spanish/English translation modules as part of its NowIS (Normalized Wide Spectrum Intelligence) system.

Fonality Upgrades Call Center Software
Los Angeles-based Fonality has upgraded the firm's PBXtra Call Center Edition product, saying today that it has added the ability to manage call queues and to support home-based workers and agents on cell phones. The 3.5 version of the firm's software also provides companies with ability to record and monitor calls. Fonality's PBXtra product is a version of the open source Asterisk PBX software modified for providing call center functionality.

Strix Gets Win at Honda
Calabasas-based Strix Systems said today that its wireless mesh priduct have been deployed throughout Honda's engine plants in China. The deal is part of a win with Dongfeng Honda Engine Co., Ltd. (DHEC), a joint venture of Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The deal involves eight plants in Guangzhou China. Financial details of the win were not disclosed.
