Eisner Launches New Media Studio
Michael Eisner's investment firm, The Tornante Company, said today that it has formed a new company, Vuguru, to produce and distribute content for the Internet and other emerging digital platforms. Tornante said that Vuguru's goal is to produce high-quality, story-driven content for the Internet. The studio is launching with its first production, Prom Queen, a serialized mystery which will be sponsored by FIJI Water, POM Wonderful, Teleflora.com, ELLEgirl, and Victoria's Secret Pink, Jessica McC (More info...)

IntelliDOT Scores $10M
San Diego-based IntelliDOT, a provider of software for healthcare workflow management and patient safety management, said today that it has raised $10M in a Series D round. The funding was led by Psilos Group, and also included Menlo Ventures, American River Ventures, Integral Capital Partners, Shoreline Ventures, Dick Allen, and Shea Ventures. IntelliDOT develops a workflow manager that connects nurses wirelessly with information systems.

CircleUp Teams With e7sports
Newport Beach-based social communications and networking firm CircleUp announced today that it has teamed up with Irvine-based e7sports. CircleUp will provide communications tools to e7sports, an online community for sports tournament management. CircleUp's tools will be used to manage email communications between coaches, tournament directors, teams, and athletes.

ProfitLine Appoints VP
San Diego-based ProfitLine announced this morning that it has hired Randy DeLorenzo as Vice President of Mobility Strategy. DeLorenzo joins the firm from TRAQ, and has also served at Telware Communications and Verizon Wireless. ProfitLine is a provider of outsourced telecom expense management services, and is venture-backed by Menlo Ventures and FTVentures.

Madcap Gets Win
San Diego-based MadCap Software, a provider of help authoring tools, said Monday morning that the firm has been selected by ChannelAdvisor as its online Help and user documentation tool. MadCap's Flare software will be used to author XML help documents for ChannelAdvisor, a provider of information to e-commerce sites like eBay, Amazon.com, and Shopzilla.

Cornerstone OnDemand Partners With HR Firm
Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand, a provider of workforce management software, said today that it has partnered with human resource consulting and outsourcing firm Sequent. The two will provide a joint offering to the market. The joint offering will provide tools for learning, performance management, compliance, and other employee management.
