Desktop Factory (www.desktopfactory.com) is developing desktop 3D fabrication and prototyping systems. CoreValve Scores $33M
CoreValve, an Irvine firm developing medical devices for percutaneous heart valve replacement, has raised $33M. Corevalve said today that the third round of funding was led by Maverick Capital, and also included existing investors Apax Partners, HealthCap, and Sofinnova Partners. CoreValve's technology is targeted at heart valve replacement and is based on a catheter techniques similar to angioplasty and stenting.

Snap Adds Language Support
Pasadena-based Perfect Market Technologies said today that it has added support for 7 additional languages in its Snap Preview service. The service, which allows any blog or web site to display web previews of links, now supports Chinese (simplified and traditional), Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, German, and Korean. Autobytel Signs Dealer Group
Irvine-based Autobytel, which provides Internet marketing services for the automotive industry, said Tuesday that it has signed on a new dealer as a customer. Luther Automotive Group, which is a dealer group with dealerships in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakata, is in an agreement for an online referral progrma from Autobytel. Financial size of the win was not announced.

Smith Micro Signs Mexican Cell Carrier
Aliso Viejo-based Smith Micro has scored a win with Mexican mobile operator IUSACELL Group, the company disclosed this morning. Smith Micro will provide its QuickLink Music PC software to IUSACELL to provide a full mobile music service. Smith Micro's QuickLink Music provides music download and music file management for mobile phones and PCs. Financial terms of the win were not disclosed.

Ortiva Wireless, GoTV In Trial
San Diego-based Ortiva Wireless, which is developing technology for delivering rich media content and video to mobile handsets, said Tuesday that the firm is in a commercial trial with Sherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks. Ortiva said that the commercial trial began in February, on GoTV's Hip Hop Official channel. The trial is expected to end this month. Ortiva is venture backed by Artiman Ventures, Mission Ventures, and Avalon Ventures.
