Stack Computer Acquired By Agilisys
Irvine-based Stack Computer, a technology integrator focused on the storage industry, has been acquired by Boca Raton, Flordia-based Agilisys. The deal was worth $28M in cash, and closed yesterday. Stack services customers in the financial services, healthcare and manufacturing industries, and specializes in storage area networking products from Cisco, Veritas, and EMC. According to Agilisys, Stack had annual revenues of approximately $55M.

YouMail Raises $1.87M From TCA
Irvine-based YouMail has raised $1.87M in a first round of funding, the company said today. The funding came from the Tech Coast Angels, with a deal led by Luis Villalobos. YouMail has developed a personalized voice mail service that provides custom greeting for each incoming caller, online access, and ability to save voicemails as audio files.

Southern California Raises Over $1B In VC In Q1 2007
A recent analysis of the socalTECH.com venture database finds that there was over $1.15B in venture capital deals disclosed or announced in Q1 of 2007 in Southern California, up significantly from the same quarter last year, when there were $800.7M in investments in the region. Among the biggest announced deals in the quarter was the $110M funding of San Diego-based CardioNet, followed by $70M for Vantage Media in Venice, then $50M from Beverly Hills' Real D. Qualcomm Files More Patent Suits Against Nokia
San Diego-based Qualcomm has filed additional patent infringement suits against Nokia, the firm said this morning. Qualcomm said that it has filed suit against NOkia in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division for infringement of two patents and in the Western District of Wisconsin for infringement of three patents. The patents are targeting Nokia's GSM/GPRS/EDGE cellular phones, and come in addition to a series of other patent infringement suits worldwide by Qualcomm against Nokia.

Slacker Adds XM Co-Founder
San Diego-based Internet radio service Slacker said today that it has added one of the co-founders of XM Satellite Radio as an executive. The venture funded, online and satellite music service said that Lon Levin, co-founder of XM Satellite Radio, has joined the firm as Senior Advisor. Slacker operates an online music radio service which provides personalized music via both the Internet as well as through satellite radio devices. Napster Reports Subscriber Numbers
Los Angeles-based Napster has reported its latest subscriber numbers, saying this morning that it has more than 830,000 paid subscribers to its music download service. The company said that it expects to report $28M in revenue from its music services when it releases its fourth quarter results. The subscribers include 225,000 AOL Music Now subscribers, in addition to what the firm said was organic growth of 40,000 paid subscribers during the quarter. United Online Teams With DSL Equipment Provider
Woodland Hills-based ISP United Online and 2Wire, a provider of residential DSL gateway equipment, said today that United Online will provide 2Wire's premium residential gateways to all of United Online's NetZero DSL broadband service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. United online's new DSL broadband service was launched in November.

Sendio Hires Sales and Marketing VPs
Irvine-based Sendio said today that it has added Tim Lee-Thorp as Vice President of Marketing, and Kevin Bowyer as Senior Vice President of Sales. Sendio develops enterprise email security products. Bowyer was most recently at Cogen Global Services; Lee-Thorp has served Filanet, Picazo Communications, Syncvoice, Nortel, Routescience, and other firms.
